***Even though our February 1st application deadline has passed and acceptance letters have been sent out, we still encourage students to submit an application.  A spot may become available, at which point we would be able to take students off the waitlist.  Please contact Director of Enrollment, Shannon Looby, at slooby@thesummitva.org if you have any questions.

The steps and required information for completing the application process are as follows:

High School

    • Submit the online application
    • Student records and grades from previous school

    • High School Placement Test (HSPT) Scores

    • Teacher recommendations (required from a math instructor and an English instructor)

    • Student Interview

    • Parent Interview

Middle School

Tuition Assistance Application.

We are committed to serving families that want to be a part of our mission. We offer multiple forms of tuition assistance. However, financial aid resources are finite and so it is important for families to apply early.

3 Types of Financial Assistance:

  • Multi-Student Discount

  • Need Based Assistance – Apply through FACTS at https://online.factsmgt.com/signin/4KL3Z

  • John Paul Asbell Awards (2) $2,500 merit based scholarships

    • Offered to one new high school student and one returning high school student

    • The application for the John Paul Asbell Awards is submitted after students have been admitted for enrollment

    Key Dates 

      • Shadow Days – Once the application deadline has passed, individual shadow days are scheduled on a case by case basis.  Please contact slooby@thesummitva.org

      • Application Deadline: February 1, 2023

      • Returning Families Tuition Deposit Due: February 15, 2023

      • Decision Letters Sent: March 1, 2023

      • Enrollment Agreement and Tuition Deposit Deadline: April 1, 2023

      • John Paul Asbell Scholarship Application Opens: April 3, 2023 (Application essays are due by May 1, 2023)

      • Tuition Assistance Application Deadline: April 30

      • Tuition Assistance and Scholarship Notifications Sent: May 19, 2023*

      *Please Note: Our financial aid budget comes entirely from many generous donors and friends who are excited to support our families. Because tuition assistance is part of our strategy to partner with parents, it is included in our annual budgeting and operations planning. Even if you’re unsure if you qualify for assistance, we encourage you to apply.

      Applying for tuition assistance does not affect a student’s application for admission. Admission decisions are based on a student’s qualifications and the likelihood that they will contribute to the strength of our school community.
