Who We Are

What is The Summit Academy?

We are an independent, classical, college preparatory high school and middle school. Rooted in the Catholic Tradition, we offer a unique opportunity to develop the mind and body in a profound education experience that engages the whole person.

How is The Summit Unique?
We provide a rich academic program based on the Great Books and Liberal Arts Tradition that has withstood the test of time. Our curriculum, class and schedule organization and most fundamentally our instruction in the classroom (and beyond) is structured to strengthen our students’ engagement with the world.

We utilize single-sex instruction and offer small class sizes where students will work with original sources and texts and learn through active participation in Socratic seminars. We provide a rigorous education in our language, math and science program as well as fine arts and performance, speech and debate as well as outdoor leadership to educate the whole person.

Our students become strong and deep critical thinkers as they engage in an expert guidance in the Liberal Arts.

The Summit is an Education Towards Freedom
We are committed to the lordship of Jesus Christ and this is in no way extraneous to the question of academic excellence. The questions of education ultimately come down to the human questions. Who are we and what is our place in the world? What are we doing and why are we doing it?

Man cannot truly know himself or the world in which he lives without seeking to know his origin, namely the One in whose image man is made.

Christ cannot rightly be held up as the center of students’ lives (academic or otherwise) if He is not simultaneously seen as the center of reason, history and existence and if He is not understood as satisfying the longings implanted in mankind.

An education that teaches students to reason will be both faithful to Christ and His Church while simultaneously equipping them to succeed in life.

Our mission is to ground students in education that opens them to the realization of who they are called to be in Christ. What they are called to be is nothing short of the very Glory of God. As Saint Ireneaus proclaims in our school motto:

“The Glory of God is Man Fully Alive”
